My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buccee is who caught your eye which means you can spot good company, the type that feels familiar from the start. This boy has some charm to him, we have not watched him meet one person without them almost immediately being his #1 fan. His eyes have a touch of cloudiness that adds to the mystique of his old soul presence. He stole all our hearts with ease, his affection and absolutely adoring face that we hope you fall for.

You cant feel the coziness of his hug but you can see his adoring face- fall in love with Buccee here: https://youtu.be/JSoWcRh-vno

In rescue, age and breed are details about a dog we can never know with 100% confidence, but we believe Buccee is a pittie/staffie mix and possibly 5 years old, weighing 56 lbs. His face gives off an older look than he mentally approaches life with. He is youthful in his experiences, having so many firsts to share with someone and an awe for the simple things. This is a dog that only sees the goodness and reflects it right back.

Buccee's easy-going nature can be seen in all his interactions- with other dogs he was friendly and content in their company, and with our house cat he was perfectly respectful. An ideal home for Buccee is one where napping is encouraged, and the treats are flowing. He will work for a treat, any and every time, which will make learning/ training that much easier. For a canine companion, Buccee would enjoy an easy-going partner-in-chill, and dog-savvy cats are welcome! Another dog is not necessary though, Buccee is absolutely willing to be your one-and-only! The role of sweet companion soaking up all the love is the role he dreams of. Thanks to his calm, quiet nature, and mid-size body, Buccee would be a great fit for the apartment life or a house with a yard. All we think he absolutely needs is people of his very own in a home where he is loved!

Buccee is also great on leash, able to walk by other dogs with an easy pace while continuing to walk despite the distractions around him. Buccee may have limited vision in one eye due to a corneal dystrophy. The most current diagnosis will be discussed with an adoption coordinator if you are interested in adopting Buccee. This does not effect his quality of life, and as it was said before, it adds a bit of mystique to his presence. Buccee is available for adoption now! The sooner you get him home the sooner the love can start flowing! The best days of Buccee's life are ahead of him and he can’t wait to spend them with you!

If you have any questions about Buccee or would like us to test for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure she is the correct fit for you and your life!

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30-day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8-week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 6-year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
