My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Silas! I'm a sweet and gentle soul, but don't let that fool you. I'm also playful and energetic, always ready for a game of fetch or a romp in the park. I have a goofy side that will keep you laughing and a cuddly side that will warm your heart. I've been known to be a bit of an escape artist, but it's only because I'm curious and love exploring. My funny antics and warm cuddles make every day brighter. If you're looking for a companion who will bring joy, laughter, and love to your life, I'm your guy!

More about this shelter

HHHS has been a permanent part of the Topeka community since its founding May 4, 1938. The organization is incorporated as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) business for the purpose of sheltering companion animals in need of care, advocating for anti-cruelty protection of animals and promoting humane education and animal welfare issues. HHHS fosters the adoption of companion animals into responsible homes and reunites lost animals with their owners; promotes sterilization of animals to help reduce overpopulation; provides a facility accessible to the general public; serves the community with educational programs addressing animal welfare issues; and maintains a fiscally responsible organization.
