My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Suns out, tongues out🌞! Our sweet shepherd friend JERRY is soaking up every bit of sunshine when outside of his kennel! At just 2 years old, this brindle hunk has already captured our hearts with his playful antics. Unfortunately we don't know much of Jerry's background as he was found tied to a fence ;(

What we can tell you is that Jerry loves to go for walks and hikes and is great at a good game of fetch🥎. He knows to drop the ball on command (and not), he's a smarty-pants! He does his "business" outside too✅

As for the home dynamic, Jerry seems to be doggie friendly and we think kids 12+ would be best.

Come meet him today! We are absolutely FULL to capacity! We are open daily 12-430 for doggie meets!!! You can email for more info/applications to tintonfallsahs@ahsppz.org.

More about this shelter

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused, or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.

Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
