“Red” showed up about a month ago near our house, and we took her in so we could look for her owners. After a quick scan at the vet, it’s estimated she’s about 9 months old and has no microchip. She is not spayed. We are thinking she is a Redtick Coonhound mix. We have two dogs that she gets along with well, but she chases our barn cats. She is good with our two kids (2 and 5) and loves to cuddle. She is high energy and really smart. She is affectionate and loyal and we think she’d be a great family dog or hunting companion. She is so sweet and we wanted to keep her, but her prey drive is high and she is always after our cats. This week she figured out a way into our chicken coop and killed several birds and injured more. We can’t afford to keep her around our flock where she might get more chickens or our kitties. She has so much love to give and we want her to find a happy home!
