My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet elegant little Demi! Demi is a petite and very affectionate medium haired kitty that loves her bunny soft hair to be pet and once she trusts you will let you hold her. She enjoyed her early kitten-hood as a pampered indoor only kitty until her owners had to move and left her behind leaving her confused and scared of the new outside world. Fortunately, a caring neighbor feed her and brought her in during the storm and she is now in search for her new forever home while being lovingly fostered in St. Petersburg. Demi displays unique kitten characteristics that are similar to a beautiful breed of cat known as Norwegian Forest Cats or a Wegie. They can be recognized by their triangular shaped head with a strong facial profile that is long and straight from the tip of the nose to the slightly rounded forehead (other cats have more of a square muzzle and pronounced nose but she has a very straight nose indicative of the Wegie). As the name suggests, the Norwegian Forest cat comes from Scandinavia. It is very likely that the ancestors of the Norwegians were semi-longhair cats from the Middle East. They arrived in Scandinavia around the Middle Ages on Viking boats as mousers. Demi’s coat is thinner and semi-long haired like their ancestors and not thick and full with a heavy undercoat, making her more suitable to the Florida climate. Also, like a Wegie, she has large, almond-shaped eyes, set oblique with an alert expression. Unlike a Wegie, Demi is petite and not muscular, which could be from her young age (thought to be between 12 and 24 months) or recent stress of being discarded from her former home. Demi is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and ready for adoption now! Demi is very people oriented and not friendly towards other cats and would need to be the only queen of her castle only because she was likely an only kitty prior and isn't at all used to being around other cats. It is unknown if she would do well with a polite dog, but probably not. If you love the exotic look and personality of the Norwegian Forest cat but are mindful to adopt and not shop and want to save a life instead of contributing to the over population of cats and kittens, then Demi is the kitty for you! Her adoption donation is $150 and you can set up an appointment to visit her in St Pete Florida by submitting an adoption application at CJPAWS.ORG/ADOPT
