My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jen was found wandering the streets of Conroe and was picked up by animal control. She had demodex mange and a secondary yeast infection on her skin which is healed and her fur is growing in beautifully! Poor girl was ITCHY when she first came to us, but still the sweetest! She doesn't appear to be able to see much, but she can hear- ESPECIALLY if it's a treat bag. She is a petite girl, around 12lbs, and is very mindful... very demure... doesn't make a fuss about anything.

She can use a dog door and is good with other dogs! She is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, which would be fully covered by our rescue at our clinic in College Station, TX.

Check her out on her KBTX segment where she was listening to ALLLL the things! https://www.kbtx.com/video/2024/12/10/thr3e-pet-week/To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.

Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

More about this rescue

Long Way Home was created to provide the last stop for animals displaced from their homes, deemed "unadoptable" by other rescues, or that need a level of care their previous owners or other shelters are unable or unwilling to provide.
