My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dog Name: MUÑECA
Age: 3 years old
Gender: Female
Weight: 6.4 kgs
Breed: Spaniel mix
Spayed/Neutered? yes Vaccinated? Yes Heartworm Negative? yes
Good with dogs? yes
Good with kids? yes
Good with cats? Haven t being around one
Has experience on a leash? Yes
Potty trained? Yes, she is clean in her area at the foster facility and will adjust quickly to new house rules.
Crate trained? no
Where does the dog stay when it is alone? Currently, Muñeca shares her space with other dogs as her foster home also cares for other rescues. While she doesn't have her own dedicated space, Muñeca is an independent dog who is comfortable being apart from the pack when he chooses.
Where does the dog sleep? Muñeca sleeps in her foster home, in a dog bed placed on the floor in a designated area.
Temperament/Personality: Muñeca is a sweet little girl who loves to be by her human's side and enjoys cuddles all the time. Due to the rough life she endured before being rescued and the lack of love she suffered, Muñeca tends to be a bit possessive if her human shows affection to other dogs. While she gets along well with other dogs, she would thrive as an only pet. Muñeca is quite smart and food-motivated, making her easy to train. She enjoys her daily walks and handles car rides well.
What does the dog's ideal home look like? Muñeca would be a good fit for any family, but we recommend that she be the only dog. She becomes somewhat possessive of her human when she sees them giving attention to other dogs. This behavior is likely due to the lack of love and the circumstances she experienced before being rescued.

What is the dog's rescue story? Muñeca was rescued from a very poor area on the outskirts of Guadalajara by a kind-hearted but struggling family. Due to their lack of resources, they sought help, and when we learned about her situation, we stepped in and took her under our care.
Once we had Muñeca, we took her to our vet. She was in pretty bad shape, with a lot of matted fur, and she had a large tumor on her breasts. Our vet suspected that she had been used for breeding and selling her puppies, and once she was no longer useful, she was thrown out onto the street. Therefore, our vet had to perform a partial mastectomy. Fortunately, the tumor was benign and Muñeca recovered very well. Due to the circumstances under which Muñeca lived before her rescue, the only special care she needs is food with a high fiber content, such as Hill's Multi-Benefit W/D wet food and Royal Canin Gastrointestinal kibble to prevent constipation. After completing the necessary protocols, Muñeca is now ready to find her forever home.

Muñeca is waiting in Mexico until a family is committed to fostering her or taking her on a trial. If you are interested, apply at www.northwestwagrescue.org her adoption fee is $550
