A beacon of hope shines bright as GRRAND and animal advocates across the commonwealth collaborate to help rescue animals trapped in a devastating hoarding situation on a rural County Kentucky farm. Advocates eagerly await justice for the abused animals and the swift rescue of those still suffering in inhumane conditions.
It's awful to think of the terrible lives and abuse they have been subjected to. A litter of 4 week old puppies were found on the property and all had to be treated at the Emergency Vet for Parvo to save their lives and sadly, one did not make it. We have extremely high vet expenses for these dogs and really need ongoing donations to pay for all their care and we are also in desperate need of foster homes for these dogs.
As we continue to assess the individual needs of these deserving animals, additional information to come, so please check back for more updates... This is Boone, and he weighs about 35lbs and is a Golden/Lab mix.He will need a home with an above ground securely fenced yard as he has ever been on leash and remains very fearful of people and is considered a flight risk at this time. He has not been socialized and will need a family with lots of patience and who will be committed to the time it will take to help him work through any fears and insecurities he has. We are happy to report he is in a foster home and they say: "
"Boone is getting along with both Angel and Mr. Sedge. He is a chewer so I will be getting Boone some chew toys - he is eating well and loves doggie goodies. He goes out to 'do his business' and immediately wants back in [maybe because he is cold or maybe he just likes being in the house]. Boone spends most of his time on his doggie bed [when not hunting out something to chew on] and is open to being rubbed. He does not like being on leash and fights a bit if you try to lead him so we are not going to try that again until he is generally more comfortable."
If you would like to open up your heart and home to foster or adopt Boone, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org, and if you would like to donate to Boone's care, please visit the GOFUNDME link at https://www.gofundme.com/f/rescue-for-dogs-in-deplorable-conditions
