Foster cat`s bio for their adoption profile: Whiskers (nicknamed Jiji) is an adorable black cat with beautiful amber eyes. He takes a few days to get used to a new place and will stay hidden for the most part but once he gets comfortable, he is the most loving cat, constantly purring, asking for (and giving) pets, and just wanting to hang out with his human and/or cat buddy.
He doesn`t show any signs of aggression, even when scared, and gets right at home with other cats, so long as he is given space and time to approach them on his own. Initially he can be timid around new people but all he needs is some coaxing, safe space, and yummy treats.
He was an outdoor cat before being rescued, so in addition to a cat companion and a stimulating environment, the next best thing for Whiskers would be either a catio or supervised visits outdoors through leash training.
It doesn`t take much to keep Whiskers happy but he does his very best to cheer you up and succeeds every time! :)
Any special needs or traits the adopter should know about? (we may add this to the bio): Whiskers can initially be timid and may meow constantly while hiding under a space. But within a few days he will start doing much better when he realizes he is in a safe and loving home. It`s just important to give him his space, time, and affection.

More about this rescue
Since 1996 SCAT Street Cat Rescue's prime focus has been feral cats because of the limited options available for them. TNR is a successful option instead of the traditional trap and kill. The majority of the cats rescued by SCAT, however, are socialized and available for adoption. As the city grows, so to does the need for our services. Adopt, Donate, Volunteer, TODAY!
