Merry and Pippin keep each other busy! These two are the clowns of the house, full of energy and super goofy. They will play with each other pretty intensely for about 45 minutes then nap for a couple hours, then repeat all day. Their favorite nap place is between your legs on the couch or in bed - just don't move your toes under a blanket or they'll start playing again!
Merry is incredibly patient with our 3-year-old, who we keep telling not to pick up the kittens... She will carry Merry around like a baby doll, and Merry doesn't seem to mind. When she does get annoyed, she'll meow a bit and let us know she's getting "struggle snuggles so we can intervene before any scratching or biting occurs. I think she would do very well in a household with small kids, especially if they're able to play with those feather toys on the end of a string!
Merry does like to snuggle, but more on her own terms than her sister. She usually comes to snuggle with Pippin, so if Pippin is napping on/near you, Merry likely will be as well. She's also a bit of a hider, and I think it's more the dogs than anything else - if she's not napping with Pippin, she's napping under a couch where the dogs can't find her.
I think in time she'd be more comfortable with the dogs because it's only been a few weeks since they've been exposed to them and our dogs are both 80+ pounds. When they first met, she would puff up and spit and hiss if they so much as looked at her from across a room. As it stands today, if they get too close (a couple feet) she just gives a hiss and the dogs back away. She's very food motivated - she didn't like our older cat and would hiss and spit at him, but once she realized he had the wet food, she was willing to share a bowl. Her love of food outweighs her dislike of any other four-legged friends, and I'm sure with time (and possibly smaller dogs) she would fit right in.
