My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meryl came to us as part of a group of 7 female rats. They are estimated to be 3 months old as of October 2024. They were part of a larger intake of animals that we assisted another rescue with.

All seven girls are living together currently, and must go to new homes with at least one buddy. If you do not already have female rats, we recommend groups of 3 or more! Rats are very social. You can choose any rats from the group of 7 to adopt, or even adopt all 7!

Meryl started out pretty shy, but has really come out of her shell recently and is generally 4th in line right behind her gray-colored sisters to investigate when the cage door is opened. She is one of the biggest girls and so cute! She will sniff your hand and put her front paws up on you but is still learning about being handled.

With time and patience we expect these ladies to all become very friendly, adventurous companions. They have made great strides since they came into the rescue and are becoming sweeter and more confident every day.
