My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Otacon came to us as part of a group of 7 female rats. They are estimated to be 3 months old as of October 2024. They were part of a larger intake of animals that we assisted another rescue with.

All seven girls are living together currently, and must go to new homes with at least one buddy. If you do not already have female rats, we recommend groups of 3 or more! Rats are very social. You can choose any rats from the group of 7 to adopt, or even adopt all 7!

Otacon is a fluffy little cottonball of a rat. She came to us with a mild URI but has since recovered. She did not enjoy being medicated, but despite that has made good progress with taming and is usually one of the first at the door to investigate. She has shown some curious mouthiness, but no aggression- rats just explore with their mouths unless taught otherwise! She definitely relies on her sisters a little for bravery, but is coming out of her shell nicely.

With time and patience we expect these ladies to all become very friendly, adventurous companions. They have made great strides since they came into the rescue and are becoming sweeter and more confident every day.
