Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Please visit leiashope.org for our adoption process.
Located in Troy, MO
Mr. Rogers is a young Teddybear puppy (Bichon/Shihtzu) that is a little shy but is learning to trust people.
Mr. Rogers is hoping to join a neighborhood soon! He is shy with people but confident with other playful dogs. He loves to do zoomies and chase after other dogs. Once he is all worn out he grabs a drink then settles in for a nap!
Mr. Rogers came from a place known as a puppy mill and did not get the socialization he needed as a young puppy. His new family will need to continue to work on his confidence and show him lots of love and patience.
Mr. Rogers came into rescue with Giardia, a common parasite found in puppy mills. It is easy to treat and he will finish his meds before leaving to his new family.
Mr. Roger's adoption fee is $500. He is microchipped, current on age appropriate vaccines and on monthly heart worm prevention. He has not been neutered due to his young age (we spay/neuter at 6 months). A spay/neuter contract is required. Next steps can be found at leiashope.org.
PLEASE NOTE: We are a volunteer ran rescue with full time jobs. Please allow 7-10 days for application processing.
All of our dogs are in foster homes and a meet and greet is done ONLY after an approved application.
We do adopt out of the area. However, we do not ship or provide transportation. You must come to the location of the dog to meet and adopt. NO EXCEPTION. All family members and dogs must be present at the meet.
Dogs are a commitment for THEIR lifetime. For puppies this could be 15 years. If YOU cannot commit to the lifetime of the DOG, please do not apply. Puppies under 9 months must go to a home where there is someone home frequently (works from home or a partner is home), can adequately socialize and train the puppy, and can keep up with puppy energy!

We are a volunteer ran rescue and all of our dogs are in foster homes. We focus on puppy mill dogs and senior dogs at animal control or owner surrenders. We ensure all dogs have been completely vetted before going to their new home.
