My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Canary! This sweet girl lives up to her name! Canary, the domestic short hair brown tabby, is around 5 months old, and came to HSEC with other kittens! The most social and oldest of the bunch, Canary has fit right in here at HSEC!

Canary is an absolute gem of a cat, with her adorable round face, and friendly demeanor. Growing up in a home after being found as a stray, Canary has been around people since she was a little kitten! This adorable girl still has some growing to do, but so far we can tell she is an absolute catch!

Canary seems to be litter box trained and is a fairly clean cat! Loving her food, and a good head scratch (which she demands with her signature chirp sound), Canary might be the cat for you!

Our adoption fee for cats is $100.00. This fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip, dewormer, and heartworm and flea prevention before leaving the facility.

If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website hsecarolina.org where you will find our adoption application. Please fill it out and submit, and once your application is reviewed, someone will reach out to you to set up an appointment. Thank you!

More about this rescue

The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina's mission is to serve as a safe haven for homeless and neglected pets and act as a resource to the community. By educating the public about issues pertaining to animals, we feel that we can work towards the elimination of over breeding of dogs and cats and teach owners to be responsible pet owners. At the same time, we hope to facilitate adoption of pets to good homes so that we can allow more unwanted animals to find a temporary home with us.
