My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Bellah and I am from Missouri.

From her foster:
Bellah is a very sweet and gentle little dog. She loves everyone she meets, people and dogs (although she hasn't met any small kids.) She loves to cuddle up next to a warm body on the couch and snooze. She also has a little playful side which she shows when it's dinner time or walk time. She is great on a leash and likes to take walks. She has been perfect with her house training.

She is very calm, and adapted to our home and resident dog quickly. She has hardly barked at all since she's been here so she would be a great dog for apartment living. I think she would most likely be a great match with multiple types of families. My kids have brought there three dogs over and she has gotten along well with all of them. We have a houseful of people often and she is totally relaxed. She really just wants to snuggle with a nice warm body! She would be an excellent companion to some lucky person!

From the Vet:
Hi! I'm Bellah and my friends at TBB wanted to help me share a bit more about my medical care. When I first arrived in rescue I was seen at The BB Vet Center and evaluated particularly for my eye sight an dental disease. I have cataracts in my left eye, however they are stable and this time and are not affecting my QOL. My biggest need at this time is my dental disease. I was scheduled for a cleaning and several extractions, however x-rays revealed the problem was worse than we thought. The surgery team at our vet partner noted I actually have a fractured jaw making my needed extractions more complicated. TBB is helping me get scheduled for a specialty veterinary dentist appointment so we can make sure I will be safe during my procedure. TBB will agree to cover the consultation as well as the dental procedure along with 1 round of medications and a recheck appointment as deemed necessary by the TBB Vet Team and our partners. I hope to find a furever family willing to help get me through this recovery period and settle into a loving home in my senior years!

Go meet their pets

The Bond Between's goal is to not keep any animals at our rescue office. The majority of our animals are living in foster homes until they are adopted. Occasionally, animals are living in our rescue office that are in need of a foster home.

If you would like to meet an animal at our office who needs a foster, please reach out to inofficeanimals@thebondbetween.org and fill out our foster interest form at https://www.thebondbetween.org/foster

More about this rescue

The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.

We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.

You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
