My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Yabbo
Pembroke, MA

Introducing Yabbo! A pint sized pup with a goofy grin and fun demeanor, seeking a family of his own. You'll like Yabbo. In fact, you'll love him!

Yabbo loves to run and play, so a home looking for an active companion would be perfect for him. He's not looking for someone to turn him into a fat, contented housedog, though he does enjoy a good nap near his people after a day of fun. We are working on leash manners and shoring up housetraining and crate training - living as a stray previously he missed out on those skills, but he's making great progress and adapting quickly.

This little man is a mix of some sort. Heeler, border collie, maybe some corgi or dachshund with those short legs and long body. Or maybe he's a purebred ?weirdo? In any case, he's about 1.5 years old and 30lbs, so he won't be getting any bigger! Yabbo has lived with children previously and should be fine with herder-savvy kids 6+. Though I'm told he was fine meeting a cat, he does have a decent prey drive so I would anticipate needing slow integration and training to teach him not to chase.

Yabbo has been pretty confident exploring new places and encountering new environmental noises/objects. He can be a little reactive towards novel people and dogs in some contexts, but has done very well with appropriate introductions. He's working on basic training and is highly food motivated; with some continued training he'll really shine!

Yabbo is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and monthly preventatives. He is fostered in Pembroke MA and needs to meet his potential family prior to adoption to ensure it's the right fit. More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer group that rescues Australian Cattle Dogs. Our dogs reside in foster homes until they are adopted
Every year, thousands of Australian Cattle Dogs find themselves homeless through no fault of their own. Although the reasons are diverse, the result is the same. Healthy, adoptable dogs face euthanasia in shelters.

The Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association rescues ACDs in shelters from Maine to Georgia and gives these dogs a fresh start with a loving family. Our foster home volunteers welcome the dogs into their homes where they live as members of the family. During the time in foster care, our volunteers determine what kind of forever home will be the right one for each dog.
