My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pets like’s & dislikes: loves toys, playing fetch, agility courses and frisbee. Very food motivated and wants to please his human. Enjoys walks, runs, visits to the dog park and car rides. He loves to snuggle! Can be weary of some men.

Any additional info you think we should know: we've been working on agility course training and he seems to enjoy the work. Red knows basic commands - sit, stay, come, no, treat and toy. Comes immediately when called. Walks very well with a gentle leader. Crate trained and house broken. Red is a very energetic boy and will need exercise daily along with positive reinforcement as he learns new things. I don't think he would do well crated for long periods of time. He's extremely smart and learns very quickly. Red will grab your hand and lead you places he thinks you should go. He's also a counter surfer.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require potential adopters to fill out an Adoption Application. When that is approved we can arrange for the prospective adopter to meet the dog they are interested in. We do require an adoption contract to be signed at time of adoption. We have a virtual home-check process (don't forget to submit photos of the exterior of your home!) Adoption fees range depending on the age of the dog. We do have dogs located at qualified fosters throughout the state and also out of state.

Go meet their pets

Since all rescue dogs live in foster homes, there is no single facility to meet pups.

You will need to contact Ewenity Farms HDH to make arrangements to meet the rescue dog after you have an approved app on file. Apps can be filled out at ewenityfarm.org

More about this rescue

We are a small, foster-based rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one-on-one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary.

It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
