My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Target is an adult neutered male Chihuahua Mix. Target came in as a stray. He is a nice little dog who is a little shy at first meeting but once past the meet and greet is very easy going. He seems housebroken but would prefer to be your only dog. When we took Target for neutering, we asked that his hip be x-rayed because he was limping. He was found to have necrosis of the left femoral head. It is a guess but they don't think it is from an injury. If it is not addressed it will cause him a great deal of pain. To address the problem, Target needs a femoral head ostectomy which is a surgical procedure that removes the head and neck of the dog's femur to treat hip pain and restore mobility. We are going to move ahead with the procedure but we are looking for a foster and/or foster to adopt family to care for this little guy. Volunteers For Animals will pay for all of his care but we need someone to take him to the surgery appointment and care for him post-operatively. If you think you might be interested in helping this sweet dog, please email us at info@vol4animals. org
