My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Manny!

The Manister of NYC, Breaker of Toys and Cuddler of the Century!

This loyal and playful pup recently entered foster care after being surrendered to the Staten Island ACC when his owner had to move and could not take Manny with. Manny’s previous owner adored him and highlighted his gentle, affectionate nature. He’s known to get the occasional zoomies, showing off his goofy side, and he’s always ready to alert you with a few barks to keep you informed about what's happening around your home.

Favorite activities and things: Manny loves going on walks, belly rubs, and lots of pets. He’s a treat lover and especially enjoys playing with Kong or other hard rubber toys since he’s quite the super chewer. Mealtime is his favorite part of the day—he gets so excited for his dinner bowl that he’ll hop along as he follows you!

Fun Facts about Manny:

Commands Known: Sit, Stay, Come, Leave it, Paw, Easy, No, Eatie, Drinkie water, Wanna Treat, and Focus (look into your eyes).

Leash Manners: Gentle on Leash, and quite the sniffer and observer of nature and his surroundings. When excited or sees another dog, he will tug a bit but very easy to calm down and get back to a normal pace. Manny has not barked once in public while in foster care.

Kids/Dogs Manners: Manny is very curious about kids but indifferent on walks. When he sees another dog, Manny is always looking to make new friends, and has been praised by other pet owners for having a great disposition, very gentle and calm behavior when introducing himself to other dogs.

Housetrained: When left at home by himself, Manny will not chew on wires, go into the trash or make a mess in the house. All in all, he will just wait by the door anticipating your arrival.

Pee/Potty Details: Manny will only go outside to relieve himself, and has been very good about it.

Crate Details: Manny is crate trained, and will whine intially when locked in the crate but will soon settle down and fall asleep. In the morning, you'll find him snuggling with his toys in the crate and sometimes even sleeping on his bag while snoring

Working On: Manny has been working on his bark at home, he seems to be very curious about neighbors and footsteps in the hallways since he is always looking to protect you. This could be his behavior from his past owners, and some anxiety about potential dangers lurking behind closed doors.

Personal Favorites: Always looking for cuddles and loves belly rubs. This little chonkly will follow you around everywhere and will always want to play fetch with you. Leave him with a chewy toy, and he will spend his entire day trying to destroy it.
