About Emmet

Hi, my name is Emmet and I have so much love to give! I'm small enough to fit right on your lap and that's my preferred place. If you aren't sitting down, I'll follow you from room to room so you don't get lonely. I like going on walks but I don't need a ton of exercise-I'm happy to entertain myself at home with my toys! Spinning myself in circles is my favorite way to play! I live with a cat who's not interested in playing with me, but I keep hoping he'll change his mind. Maybe he doesn't like that I try to eat his dinner? I love meeting other dogs on walks and I bet it would be so fun to have another dog in the house to play with!

I'm pretty good on the leash, but if something catches my attention, it can be difficult to redirect me, but I'm working on it! I love to learn and I've mastered sit, down, crate, feast (my release word for meals!), and I'm working on some others. My secret talent is finding the tastiest trash on my walks-and then eating it! Unrelated, I'm sure, but I've had some digestion issues in the past, so now I get probiotics with my food, which has helped a lot. When I meet new people, I'll jump up to say hi (since I'm only 12 pounds, no one seems to mind) and give them all the licks I can, but after the initial excitement, I settle down quickly. I like hanging out in my crate during the day while my human works next to me, but when everyone leaves, I bark a little just to make sure they didn't forget me, but then I quiet down after a few minutes. I used to bark a lot in there, so maybe with more practice, I won't need to at all! Overnight, I sleep quietly in my crate but sometimes I wake up before my humans and I whine to let them know I'm up and ready to start the day.

I'd love a home where I get to be around you a lot. I really am the sweetest cuddlebug you'll ever meet. My idea of a perfect night is to be nestled up to you on the couch with my nose buried in your elbow crook until I drift off to sleep.

Emmet is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for his age.

More about this rescue

Twin Cities Pet Rescue (TCPR) is a small, 501c3 nonprofit, companion animal rescue organization. TCPR does not have a facility and is 100% foster-based. TCPR rescues dogs, cats and small animals of all breeds; rescuing them from city impounds, puppy mills, and other situations of abuse and neglect. Once rescued, all animals receive veterinary care ranging from spay/neuter, vaccines, microchips, and basic testing to specialty eye surgeries, pet dermatology care, and various other specialty treatments. Once an animal is rescued by TCPR, it remains in a foster home until adopted, no matter how long that might take.
TCPR often rescues animals that are considered “less adoptable” by other rescue organizations, as they are often the ones overlooked and truly left behind; and in need of the most help. These animals might be overlooked due to their age, health status, special needs or breed. TCPR works to help as many animals in need find their furever families as we can, especially helping those animals that need help most.
