My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Donut, the sweetest 1-year-old Jindo/Corgi mix weighing 20 lbs. Rescued from a high-kill shelter in Hongseong City, Korea, Donut was one of 105 souls saved in our rescue mission to clear the shelters earlier this year.

We’re dedicated to giving every dog a second chance at a happy life. We are passionate about rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs in need, offering them the love and care they deserve. Donut’s journey from a high-kill shelter in Hongseong City, Korea, to NYC marks the start of his new chapter, and we can’t wait to help him find the perfect forever family to share it with.

Indoors, this little guy is a total cuddle bug. He loves spending time in his crate, but when he’s out, you’ll find him asking for pets, giving out sweet licks, or hanging out in his favorite corner. He’s a pro at wrapping you up in his leash and rubbing against your legs for extra love!

Outdoors: Donut is curious and loves to explore. With some patience, love, and time, he’ll be your loyal best friend as he is gaining more confidence every day. Could you be the one to help this adorable pup bloom?

Do-nut sleep on this adorable pup and meet him at our adoption events this weekend:

More about this rescue

Korean K9 Rescue is a volunteer-driven No-Kill dog rescue organization based in Queens, New York and Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, South Korea As a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, we transport homeless and mistreated dogs from South Korea and place them with loving forever families, primarily in New York City, Boston, and Los Angeles. Because of an unfortunate stigma surrounding mixed-breed dogs–and the dog meat trade that persists within the country–many dogs in South Korea are unlikely to be adopted at home and are in grave danger of being euthanized.

We believe that all dogs should be happy and free. With our partners in Korea, we are stepping in to help at-risk dogs live healthy, happy, long lives. Please join us in our mission!
