My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there, future best friend!

I’m Daisy May, a delightful 3-year-old, 56-pound Great Pyrenees/Labrador Retriever mix. If you’re looking for a fluffy cloud of sweetness to brighten your days, look no further! With a mix of Pyrenees charm and Lab enthusiasm, you can expect a few things: a cuddly companion who thinks belly rubs are the secret to happiness and a dog that embraces the fine art of “sniffing and selecting” the best sunbeam for napping. Now, I have to admit, I’m a bit of a wallflower. I might seem timid at first—think of me as the shy artist who needs a little encouragement to share my masterpieces of love. But don’t let that fool you! Approach me slowly, and before you know it, I’ll be wagging my tail like I’m auditioning for the “Best Tail Wag” awards! After just a few minutes of love and attention, I’ll roll over on my back, showing off my fluffy belly and signaling that I’m officially ready for my fan club to form.

I came to be a part of this fabulous rescue after a bit of a nail-biting adventure! Just a few weeks ago, I was the girl many met when we were desperately trying to find a foster home for me. I was only a day away from being euthanized, and let me tell you, that was not the way I envisioned my story ending! But thanks to the amazing folks at Pyr Paws N Fluffy Tails Rescue and some kind-hearted humans, aka my foster family, I got a second chance at life.

As for my living situation, I’m a versatile lady! I get along famously with my two doggie roommates, so if you have a furry friend who also loves to snuggle, we’ll be a paw-some duo! But if you’re looking for an only dog, I’m your gal—think of me as the “solo artist” in a world of duets. I’ll happily hold court in my kingdom of cuddles! 🏰Now, cats? Well, I’m not currently fostered around any, so your guess is as good as mine! But if we’re being honest, I think we would probably do fine together. As for kids, bring ‘em on! I’m ready to share my cuddles and snuggles with little humans. Just be warned: I might steal the show with my adorable antics and end up being the main attraction in your family circus!

Now, let’s talk about my car ride etiquette! I may need a lift because, to put it lightly, I can get a bit nervous. Picture me panting like I just ran a marathon… but really, I’m just trying to figure out if I should take a nap or be on high alert for squirrels. Public outings? Nope, I’ll pass on those for now. I’m more of a homebody—think cozy nights in with a good chew toy and a Netflix binge (I hear “Bark to the Future” is a must-watch). When it comes to leash walks, I’m still a bit of a novice. I might hunker down and give you my best “I’m not ready for this” look. But hey, practice makes perfect, right? And when I meet new people, I’m like that friend who takes a moment to scope out the scene before joining the party—reserved, but I promise there’s a bubbly personality underneath just waiting to shine!

Now, let’s chat about my overall temperament! I’m calm and laid back, the perfect recipe for cozy nights...or days in. But don’t let that fool you—I do have my moments of playfulness and zoomies. And fetch? What the heck is that? I’m more into the art of leisurely lounging and perfecting my nap techniques than chasing after some thrown ball. I mean, why chase it when I can just stare at it from the comfort of my favorite spot?

Now, let's get down to business: Potty training! Yes, I’m a proud member of the “Potty Trained Club.” No accidents here! And guess what? I’m also kennel trained. My crate is my little cozy cave, and I love it. But don’t worry; I’m not a couch potato... and I respect the furniture. No couch surfing for me! I like to keep my paws on the ground. As for digging holes? Nope! You won’t find me excavating the backyard like I’m searching for buried treasure. Jumping fences? No way! I’m more of a “keep it low-key” kind of gal. If there’s a doggie door around, though, you bet I know how to use it! It’s my VIP entrance to the backyard—bark like a guardian, lounge like a queen. Now, I know what you’re thinking: what about those pesky chewing habits? Fear not! I only chew on my toys, and I won’t make your shoes my next gourmet meal. When it comes to barking, I’ve got a very low-key approach: Guardian Mode Level 1! I’m as quiet as a mouse unless there is something I feel you need to know about. Will our opinions sometimes differ on if I really need to alert you about it or not? Sure, but I am still going to do my job anyway. ;)

So, if you’re ready to add a dash of sweetness and a sprinkle of fun to your life, I’m here, tail wagging and ready to meet my forever family! But let’s make one thing clear: I’m not looking for a temporary pit stop or a “let’s see how this goes” situation. I’ve already been there, done that, and let me tell you, it’s not my favorite chapter! I’m all about that forever commitment, where we can snuggle through the good times and the “oops” moments together! If you’re ready to give me a loving home and a lifetime of belly rubs, laughter, and cozy naps, then I’m your girl! Let’s embark on this journey together and make some pawsitive memories that will last a lifetime! 🐾💖 So come on, let’s turn the page and start our forever story! I promise you won’t regret it.

Until we meet,
Daisy May
