Just as summer has come to an end, Polar has perfect timing. He's just in time for his season coming up, so that he can shine in full effect! Polar's a happy boy, his tail wags are never ending and he LOVES meeting new people. He also loves to play, he's always up for a game of fetch--tennis balls seem to be his favorite! Polar is a little sharky with treats, but I'm sure with some love and quality time he will learn to be as gentle as his heart is. He's a very affectionate boy who just wants to spread the love! That's what the Christmas spirit is about anyway, right? You can get an idea of why Polar and winter go together hand in hand. Come and meet Polar, he would love to infect you with all the love and happiness he can:)

More about this shelter
The South Suburban Humane Society is a 501(c )(3) organization that was started in 1970, serving the animal welfare needs of the entire south suburbs of Chicago. In the beginning, we handled all rescues, adoptions and provided foster care out of private homes. Since November 1973, our organization has been operating a 10,000 square foot open-door animal shelter in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
For over fifty years, our organization has helped tens of thousands of animals. We offer extensive outreach programs including humane education, and community outreach events. We also operate a resale shop located in Steger, Illinois that promotes our organization, our animals and provide much needed income to support our humane work.
The Mission of the South Suburban Humane Society is to protect and promote the well being of pets and their people in our community and beyond.
