If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Link was adopted from the Atlanta Humane Society 7 years ago when he was just 3 months old. He has received extensive leash training and knows all of his commands. He is a good boy, but he has some issues with anxiety, especially around quickly moving things like bicycles or children. When he's feeling anxious or glum, he likes to collect and guard socks. He will occasionally nip to protect his treasure trove of stolen items or if a bicycle comes whizzing by. His guarding habit is easily broken with a treat and some dog tricks. He would be great for an owner wanting to do agility training. He enjoys walks and runs, but will bark on occasion. He takes a while to warm up to other dogs but genuinely enjoys hanging out with his brother, Barney (grandma's dog). Link was rather upset when a baby, now a toddler, joined the family. He is constantly struggling with his behavior and anxiety. He'd be so much happier in a house where he could be the center of attention. His breed is a total guess.
