My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is MOCHA and here is some info about me:

PHYSICAL INFO:

  • Age: 3 years

  • Gender: Female

  • Weight: 9.9 lbs (4.5 kg)

  • Height: 34 cm (paws to top of my head)

  • Length: 46 cm (head to butt)

  • Current Location: MEXICO CITY

RESCUE STORY - My rescue story is one of resilience and hope. Three months ago, I was found abandoned in a cardboard box outside the shelter on a rainy night, heavily pregnant and in poor condition with my daughter, Cappuccina. We were both very skinny and struggling with visible signs of scabies, likely victims of an illegal breeding facility. But I’m so grateful to the caring rescuers who brought us in. With their support, I’ve started to heal and thrive, and now I’m ready to embrace a brighter future in a loving home! Here I am with my daughter at the shelter! And here we are getting treats! We would love to stay together, but this is not necessary for adoption.

TEMPERAMENT - I’m a playful pup with a heart full of curiosity! Life at the shelter can be a bit overwhelming—I don’t get to go out much, but when I do, I get super excited by all the sounds, smells, and other dogs. I’m still learning how to walk on a leash, but I promise I’m trying my best! I can be a little shy at first, especially around new people and cars zooming by, but give me just half an hour, and I’ll start to warm up and seek your affection. I love being petted! I share my space with a mix of small and medium dogs, and a big, calm buddy, and we have fun playing together. I’m not picky about food, and I’ve met cats and birds without any fuss. While I haven’t met kids yet, I’m ready to find my forever home where I can grow more confident and show you just how much love I have to give!

ENERGY LEVEL - Medium - I love to play and explore, but I’m also all about those cozy snuggles and gentle cuddles!

GETS ALONG WITH:

  • Kids – Unknown.

  • Dogs –  Yes. I share my space with a mix of small and medium dogs, and a big, calm buddy dog, and we have fun playing together. Here I am with other dogs.

  • Cats – Unknown.

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. Here is a video of me acting indifferent to birds while out on a walk! I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. in Canada, so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

  • Leash skills – Work in progress. I haven’t had much opportunity to work on my leash skills so I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success! Here I am on a walk!

  • House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :)

Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.

HEALTH NOTES:

  • I am spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.

  • My scabies have healed quickly, I have put on weight, and I am healthy and active since being at the shelter.

  • I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North.

  • NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

  • My adoption fee is $840.00 (including taxes), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.

The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.

WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.
