My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jester is a 4 year old 56 lb neutered male pit bull. He is housetrained. Current on vaccines. Microchipped. Heartworm negative. Jester was adopted from our rescue multiple years ago. Since then the owner had several other dogs and Jester was protective of his owner. He started getting beat up on from the two other dogs. And finally owner returned him to our rescue to hopefully find him a new home. I think he should be an only dog or with a calm dog so he doesn't get beat up again! He is a loving couch potato and deserves a better life. Not sure if he is good with cats, but we will test him soon! We would love someone to give him a loving home! Submit Application

Inquiry can be made about a pet by emailing casey@rescuepetsservingvets.org and/or calling 570-441-0083. Application then emailed to adopter

Interview

Vet reference check is done if they have or had previous pets and applicant is interviewed on phone as well to insure compatibility

3.
Meet the Pet

A meet and greet is set up with potential adopter and pet at a agreed upon location

4.
Home Check

Home visit is required to check the safety of the home where pet will be adopted into.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

Owner completes an adoption contract and I visit pet within a week at the new home.

More about this rescue

We are a small group of volunteers that rescue pets with medical needs from a kill shelter. We treat them at our associated Vet clinic and make sure they are spayed or neutered and vaccinated. Pets are then put up for adoption and we try and match them with the right owners. We give special priority to veterans and we begin service dog training while pets are with us. Pets are fostered in our homes or at the Veterinary Clinic until homes are found.
