My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a furry companion who is full of joy and love? Look no further than Zero, the adorable 15-pound dog who is sure to steal your heart with his playful antics and sweet nature.

Zero is the epitome of happiness in a small package. Despite his petite size, he has a big personality that shines through in everything he does. His playful demeanor will bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart. Whether he's chasing his tail in the yard or cuddling up on the couch, Zero is always ready for fun and affection.

If you have other small pets at home, Zero is the perfect companion for them. He gets along great with small dogs and cats, making him a wonderful addition to a multi-pet household. While Zero is a social butterfly with small dogs and cats, he can be a bit intimidated by bigger dogs. We do not recommend him living with large dogs.

One of the best things about Zero is that he is already leash trained and housetrained. This means you can enjoy long walks in the park with him without any hassle, and you won't have to worry about accidents in the house. Zero is a well-behaved pup who is ready to fit right into your daily routine.

For Pet's Sake Rescue is a Mississippi based rescue. All animals are currently in MS. Mississippi is overpopulated with too many animals, not enough adopters, and many high kill shelters. For Pet's Sake Rescue saves each animal from a different background.

***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA test. We rescue animals from different situations. We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible.***

For Pet's Sake Rescue transports animals to other states for better adoption potential. Our goal is to keep animals alive and out of kennels into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Each animal is quarantined and vetted during their time in our care. Each adopted pet is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and has current flea treatment unless otherwise noted.

You can visit our website at www.forpetssakerescue.org for our full adoption process and adoption application. Once we review your application and check your vet reference, we will contact you to proceed. If both parties agree to the adoption, we will send you an Adoption Contract with an invoice. Once the invoice is paid, your pet is "on hold" for you to pick up or we can transport the pet to a designated location closer to you via transport. Transports are arranged for specific dates. We will discuss these dates and locations with you during the initial phone call.

We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents.

Any of our adoptable animals can be transported unless otherwise noted in their profile. View all of our adopted animals at www.forpetssakerescue.org

Additional adoption info

For Pet's Sake Rescue wants to insure that every animal goes to a forever home that can provide their every need including future medical care should they ever need it. For this reason, we ask each person interested in adopting to complete an application. The application requests information about the potential family including their home and occupants, as well as requests a vet references. If you do not have a vet reference, please contact us directly at adoptions@forpetssakerescue.org. During Covid-19 our home visits are changed to a video chat to insure safety of the animal.

We reserve the right to refuse an adoption. Most often times we know these animals on a personal level and can foresee it not being a good match for them though there are times when we have to refuse an adoption if there is a lack of comfort with the party.

Required: Completed application, photo ID with current address or an article of mail going to your current address in your name, and home video chat. We do not waive this process for anyone.

Adoption fees can be paid after you are given an approval. Invoices are emailed via PayPal. The deposit or transport fee holds your pet. Adoption fees are not refundable if you change your mind. Please be sure!

Do not complete an application if you are not sure you want a pet.

More about this rescue

For Pet's Sake Rescue is currently based in Long Beach, Mississippi.

This rescue specializes in feline rescues though occasionally take in miniature pigs and canines. Our goal is to provide strays and abused animals a safe haven to heal, become adoptable, and get a true chance at the life they deserve.

Our rescue focuses in healing animals and teaching them pet-like behaviors during their time with us. We spend time with each furbaby individually to learn their personality and make sure they are matched with the right family.
