My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cucumber was found in a backyard in American Fork. Cucumber is a very timid, shy girl and still wary of people. She likes to keep her distance, but once you hold her she will start purring and enjoy neck scratches. With the right person she could be very affectionate. She will need some extra time to adjust to a new home and show you her adorable personality. She loves other cats after a slow introduction. This little girl had a rough start at life. She had a foxtail stuck in her right eye for over 3 weeks causing a lot of pain and damage. However, thanks to lots of love and medication her eye is fully functional and still has vision. It will always look a little different which just makes her even more unique. Especially being an orange girl! She would love to be adopted with one of the other vegetable kittens. She is house and litter box trained. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationOctober 23, 2024, 7:31 am

Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
