My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Percy is a super sweet boy. He is very friendly, affectionate and playful. He is 1-2 years old, virus tested, neutered and fully vaccinated. He would love to find a home with his best friend Princess. A home without children or older children that respect boundaries would be best. His adoption fee is $75 or $50 if adopted with Princess . If you would like to adopt them, please fill out an adoption application at mitchellanimalrescue.org

Additional adoption info

Adoption fee from the city pound is the cost of vaccinations plus tax. These are the mandatory shots for (as applicable) rabies, parvo, distemper, and corona.
Adoption fee may be higher if Mitchell Animal Rescue adopts the pet from the city shelter when their time is up, puts them foster care and has to spay, neuter, or provide vet care. The adoption fee very seldom covers the costs for us to care for these pets before adoption. We require spay/neuter and require proof from a vet when it has been done. An adoption form must be filled out and signed and a house visit may be required. Mitchell Animal Rescue reserves the right to retrieve any animal adopted from us due to neglect, abuse, or abandonment.

More about this rescue

Mitchell Animal Rescue does not have a shelter. We are a small group of people who are advocates for the city strays that are taken to the city shelter. We advertise them in local newspapers, online classifieds, adopt when their time is up in the shelter, and foster them until we find new homes for them. We spay or neuter them asap or require the new owners to get it done within a reasonable amount of time and we require proof that it has been done. This is necessary as we are an animal rescue and are working hard to reduce the number of unwanted, abandoned, and abused animals.
We have also, in certain circumstances, taken surrendered animals when their owners can't keep their pets. We do try to convince pet owners who can't keep their pets to try to find new owners, but when they can't we will help as much as we can.
