My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi. My name is Luther and I am a middle aged guy looking for my perfect human. I was found roaming all alone, trying to survive in a rural area of Missouri. When I was taken to foster, nobody knew or understood me. I bit my foster mom and I got sent to boarding. I was adopted by the perfect mom, but she got sick, and I now have to move again. I like to take my time getting to know people. I keep my kennel clean, love car rides and walks, I do ok going to the groomer and doggie day care.

I am looking for a home where I can be myself. I like to relax beside my person, get lots of ear rubs, and run free in the yard. I don't know how I feel about cats and other dogs. I prefer to be with just my person.

You can view the animals available for adoption on the Audrain Humane Society website or on Facebook at Pet Pals: Audrain Humane Society

When you find an animal you are interested in adopting submit an adoption application. The application will ask for basic information about you and your household, as well as your experience with pet ownership.

If your application is approved, you will be notified and a meet and greet scheduled where the adoption fees will be paid in full and the adoption contract signed.

Take your new pet home! The staff member will provide you with instructions on how to care for your new pet and will answer any questions you have.

Please note that the Audrain Humane Society may require additional steps in the adoption process, such as a home visit or a reference check.
