Zena is believed to be around 2 years old. We think she is a Maltese/Doxie mix. She is very sweet and loving. She may take some time getting used to a new place. Once you are her person and she trusts you, she will always be with you. She loves all the cuddles and closeness she can get. Zena loves sleeping on your bed at night. She will try to be up by your head, you just must be persistent about where she needs to be. She does pretty good with going outside to potty. Taking her outside every little bit will help with that. She does know how to use a doggy door. She would do great as the only dog due to she wants all the attention. She does like to be around other dogs though so one dog might be a good thing to give her a playmate. Best to be a dog that is not going to fight for dominance because when she is scared, she will growl at them and then the other dog that is dominant will growl back and they both won’t back down. When new people come around, she might be timid around them but slowly come around. She will make a wonderful companion for someone out there. Hi, My name is Marianna. 15 years ago during my last trimester of my pregnancy, I have rescued 5 m old puppy pit bull, who was emaciated, locked in the shed, and under socialized. 2 weeks later, the puppy has prevented me from drifting into diabetic coma by waking me up while I was laying on the couch. I named him 2nd Chance, or Chancey, or Momma' Boy. As much as I have saved him, he has saved our then unborn daughter and also me.
When my daughter turned 5 months old, I have decided to start rescuing pit bulls from the public, and also, the shelters. My life has been changed forever by rescuing the most abused and neglected breed in US. I feel that now my life has a purpose. Today, I am a mom, Human Resources Professional, friend, and the Rescuer. I am honored to be able to rescue fur kids and find them great homes.
