Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
This is a courtesy post on behalf of our partners at Maui Humane Society. Tootsie is available for adoption and can fly ANYWHERE Hawaiian or Alaska Airlines flies. If you are interested in adopting Tootsie, please contact us and we will put you in touch with the appropriate contacts at Maui Humane!
Tootsie's story breaks our hearts. We had the pleasure of meeting this sweet girl when we were on Maui in August. She arrived at the humane society there on March 6th starving AND with 3 bullets in her head. Yes, you read that right. Some absolute monster of a human shot this angel in the head 3 times. Just devastating.
The amazing staff at Maui Humane nursed her back to health, but sadly she is now at risk because she is not doing well in the shelter environment. After all she’s been through, this cannot be how her story ends!
Tootsie is 3.5 years old, weighs 48lbs, and appears to be a Plott hound/terrier mix. She is reportedly housebroken and good with kids. She walks well on a leash and is very treat motivated. She can be dog selective, so she would do best as an only pup. She can also be a bit shy at first (who can blame her given what she’s been through?), so a patient, loving, committed home is a must for her.
If you want to be Tootsie’s hero, please reach out to Maui Humane Society TODAY! And if you can’t give Tootsie a home, please share her far and wide. Like we said, she can get adopted anywhere Alaska/Hawaiian Airlines flies, so please share her with everyone you know regardless of where they live! Mahalo!!!

Launched in 2021, Diamond's Friends Pet Rescue is a Newport Beach-based 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization. We are entirely foster-based and are no-kill. Our mission is to help as many homeless dogs and cats as possible find loving and compassionate adoptive families.
We accomplish this by being good stewards of donations, inspiring dedicated volunteers and fosters, providing education on responsible pet ownership, and being advocates for each animal that comes under our care. Our goal is to make a positive impact in the lives of as many animals as we can.
Diamond's Friends Pet Rescue is named in honor of our founder's late dog, Diamond. She was a fantastic foster sister to numerous dogs and was a friend to every animal she met. It is our hope that many more animals in need will get to be one of Diamond's friends.
