My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I’m Star, a charming brown tabby kitten with a unique personality all my own. At first, I may seem a little independent and shy, preferring to take my time observing the world around me from a cozy vantage point. But don’t let that fool you! Once I feel safe and comfortable, I blossom into a lively and playful companion.  My curious nature drives me to explore every corner of my environment, and watching me chase after toys or engage in playful antics is sure to make you smile. I have boundless energy and love to keep things fun and exciting. But the best part of me is my affectionate side. I cherish the moments when I bond with those who take the time to earn my trust. With a little patience and love, I will reward you with a loyal friendship that will bring joy to your life. If you’re looking for a kitten who offers the perfect combination of independence and playful affection, I’m your girl! Together, we can create a lasting connection filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures. I can’t wait to find my forever home with you! More about this rescue

Friends of Rescue Animals (FRAs) is a 501(c)(3) all volunteer non-profit organization.  FRAs was founded in 2004 and started off with 4 volunteers that wanted to support the Rowlett Animal Shelter.

Our organization has grown to 400 volunteers supporting both the Rowlett Animal Shelter and the Garland Animal Shelter. With this growth now we are able to host multiple off-site adoption events, sponsor heartworm treatments program, operate our own cat rescue program, and so much more!
