Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Nikki is available for adoption.
Needful Souls Dog Rescue, Baltimore, MD
Nikki has had such a very sad beginning. She was tossed out on the side of the road inside of a box when she was only 3 months old. She was a "skeleton" puppy and in very bad shape.
They didn't think she would make it in vet care, but she did. She is a fighter.
Here is Nikki's rescue journey video: https://youtu.be/5ytvb5K54U0
When Nikki was still a young puppy she was adopted by a couple with whom she lived for 3 months. But unfortunately she was returned because she developed "leash reactivity" and they couldn't and unwilling to work through it with a dog trainer.
Nikki was enrolled in training and did great. A new foster wanted to take over her care and continue the training but again, unfortunately she was neglected and left crated most of the day instead. It took us months to finally get Nikki back into the rescue after the foster refused to return her.
We continued with Nikki's training and she was able to overcome the leash reactivity towards other dogs. She does great on the walks with other dogs encountering her, even in enclosed space at the vet office with many other dogs, she no longer shows reactivity.
Nikki has come such a long way and we want nothing more for her than to finally find her loving forever home she so much deserves.
Nikki is 1 1/2 years old and weighs 42 lbs. She is an American Pit bull Terrier.
She if spayed, micro-chipped, up date on vaccines, heartworm- and flea and tick preventatives.
Nikki is great meeting humans. She LOVES car rides, walks, running, playing with other dogs after proper introduction. She walks nicely on the leash.
She has done great with all the foster dogs coming and going at her current foster home. She plays gently with the small dogs and loves to rough-house with the big ones her size.
Nikki is house- and crate-trained. Also is fully trained and great with commands, sit, stay, down, place, heel, jump, off, out or drop it, in your crate, get it, here. She is highly food-motivated and easy to train with yummy treats.

Nikki is a love bug and would love to have her very own loving home.

Additional adoption info
You may request an adoption application by sending an email to: NeedfulSoulsDogRescue@gmail.com
We do not accept the online application. We require additional information on our adoption application.
Adoption fees apply depending on the age of the dog, but range between $200 (seniors) and $350 per dog. Puppies under the age of 6 months require a spay/neuter deposit.
We require reference and vet checks along with a home visit before we consider adopting any of our dogs by a signed contract.
Our dogs are cared for in private foster homes and are NOT in a shelter set up or public facility to visit. Once the adoption has been approved, a meet and greet with a dog can be scheduled. If it is a good fit, the adoption can then be finalized.
