My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our beautiful girl, Jenny, has been busy getting to know our volunteers in boarding after having spent her first two weeks in PA in a foster home.

She has continued to prove she’s an extremely affectionate and sweet girl once she’s had a bit of time to get to know you.

Jenny joined our rescue after a foster saved her from euthanasia at an overcrowded shelter but backed out on her at the last minute.

At this time, we believe a home with another laid back, calm or submissive dog would be best for her as it seems she might be learning to trust other dogs again. When she first meets another dog, she is nervous. Once she has decided she’s safe, her tail happily wags (and she has been thinking about the possibility of play). We also believe she would be a great “only dog” as well.

Because Jenny is still learning about indoor life, she does get nervous at times and therefore we believe that older, respectful children would be the best for her at this time.

She is walking nicely on leash aside from stopping the walk when she is nervous. But resumes easily with encouragement. Jenny is fully crated trained and seemingly already potty trained.

Jenny is an affectionate, sweet girl in calm, quiet environments and for an understanding foster or adopter with patience to let her adjust, she will make a wonderful companion.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

You can find our application at www.mostlymuttz.org.

2.
Home Check

All persons living in the household are required to be present.

3.
Approve Application

You will receive an approval email from our organization within several days of having your home visit completed.

4.
Meet the Pet

You will be able to adopt at this meeting if it is a match.

5.
Pay Fee

Adoption fees vary based on dog. We accept cash, PayPal or Venmo. The contract will also be signed at this time.

6.
Take the Pet Home

Congratulations on your new family member!

Additional adoption info

The Initial review of your application will occur within 72 hours.

Please contact your vet authorizing them to release information to us.
Also, let your references know we’ll be calling.
****Failure to take these steps may delay the process

Once your references have been contacted, someone will contact you to schedule a home visit.
After your home visit you will receive an email informing you of your approval.

Schedule a meet/adoption. You will be able to finalize your adoption of the dog at this meeting.

Please read your contract thoroughly before the meeting.

You will be required to send an update at 2 weeks, 6 months, and annually. The email addresses for those updates will be at the bottom of the contract.

If it has been determined that training is a requirement for the dog you’re adopting this will be noted on the contract. You will be required to submit verification of training completion.

Payment by cash is due at the time of adoption. If you choose to use PayPal, payment should be made prior to the meeting/adoption. You will need to forward the electronic email you receive from PayPal, to mostlymuttz@gmail.com to confirm your payment before the meeting/adoption.

Adoption Fees:

Altered puppies (8 weeks - 1 year old): $525

Unaltered puppies (8 weeks - 1 year old): $450 (A $100 sterilization deposit is required in addition to fee. This is refunded upon verification of altering.)

Adults (1yo-7yo): $375

Seniors (7+ years old): $250

Adult dogs who have been with us for over 6 months: $188

At Mostly Muttz Rescue, we often choose to save dogs suffering from curable illnesses within the shelter system rather than rescuing dogs that will be easy to place.
