My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fender was surrendered to KKPR because his parents had to go to assisted living. They had him since he was a puppy. He misses his parents and only home he has ever known of 14 years and came here with severe separation anxieties, which have been improving with time. He has adjusted quite well with our gang. He was close to his father and immediately took to my husband. He loves car rides and walks. Even though he is 14 years old, he is spry and spunky. He was accustomed to going everywhere with his parents and we are hoping to find him a similar home. Although he did not previously sleep with his parents, he does enjoy sleeping in bed with us. Because he is a more mature gentleman, he should go to a home with no children or older children. He has done well with most cats that he has met. Although he is listed as a Boston Terrier, he was the runt and is the size of a Chihuahua. He is potty-trained and uses the doggie door. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Fender, please send me an email to kims35@aol.com and I will send you an application. I can also be reached at 916.397.4686 if you have any questions.

Go meet their pets

We are currently holding events at the Folsom PetSmart at 2705 East Bidwell next to the Home Depot on some Saturdays. Please check our Facebook Page or contact us to inquire as to whether we will be there in advance as we do not hold events every Saturday. If you are unable to attend, we can schedule a meet and greet.

More about this rescue

Kimie's Kritters Pet Rescue was started because I, Kim Scherer, was retired as a California Peace Officer and wanted to do something in my retirement that I was passionate about and that is to help animals. I took an Animal Health class. During this course, I volunteered for various animal rescues and shelters. When networking for the shelters, I saw animals that languished whom I wanted to help, but I was unable to. I enlisted the help of other like-minded individuals for the Board and we started our own 501(c)(3), non-profit organization. Kimie's Kritters Pet Rescue pulls rescue-listed animals from shelters throughout the State of California and owner surrenders.
