My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Violet – Your New Best Friend!

This sweet girl has come so far on her journey to finding a forever home! Violet was surrendered to a shelter with her sister a few months ago, and she’s been learning what it means to be part of a family ever since.

Her first night in foster care was a bit overwhelming—she hesitated to come inside, as she had lived her entire life outdoors. But with patience and love, Violet grew braver. By the next day, she came inside and has been adjusting beautifully. She’s learned so much in her foster home:

• Leash walking: She enjoys strolls around the neighborhood.

• Car rides: She’s discovered the joys of pup cups and toy shopping!

• Comfortable living: Chairs and couches? Perfect for napping!

Violet is about 1 year old, weighs 50 pounds, and is:

• Housebroken and crate trained

• Friendly with other dogs

• Great with children, though her playful energy makes her better suited for older kids.

Violet is looking for a loving family who will continue to teach her the joys of indoor life and give her all the cuddles she deserves.

If Violet sounds like the perfect fit for your home, submit an application atwww.codysfriendsrescue.org

Don’t wait—this lovable, spunky pup won’t be available for long!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................
