My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roo (A136231) is a 1-year-old Pitbull mix who weighed 58.7 pounds on intake!

10/10/24 This handsome boy is Roo! Roo is looking for an owner who will have the time and patience to work with him. He would highly benefit from working with a certified trainer to continue working on his manners. He does have a history of counter-surfing and getting into the trash. His prior owner stated that he will eat anything he can get his mouth on, so he needs to be supervised at all times or in a kennel when left alone. He was known to break out of wire crates, so he needs a strong, sturdy kennel that can keep him contained. Roo was said to be kennel-trained and housebroken. It was noted that he does get car sick. Roo was described as an outgoing, friendly, and affectionate dog. He was said to do well with children but will initially bark at strangers. Roo was also said to do well with other dogs but has no history with cats, pocket pets, or livestock. Please ensure you are making slow, safe, and controlled introductions with any new potential friends. He did come from a home with 4 dogs and was said to enjoy their company so might enjoy having a buddy in his next home. It was also noted that he is a high jumper and would mostly likely be able to clear a fence so supervising him when in a fenced in yard and always having him secure on a leash when outdoors is key. Roo was also said to be quite the foody and was known to inhale his food so feeding him with enrichment toys might be the way to go! If you are interested in meeting Roo, please let us know!
