My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pepperoni
Domestic Shorthair, Born in May 2024, Black, Neutered male

Pepperoni needs to adopted into a home with another young playful cat.

Hi, I’m Pepperoni!

I’m a shy little kitten at first, but once I feel safe, I’ll be your playful, silly little friend! I was found alone under a car, so I can be a bit jumpy with new people or in new places, but give me a little time, and I’ll warm up to you.

I love toys that jingle and roll—I’m basically a little soccer player! I also enjoy belly rubs and curling up on soft blankets where I can make biscuits. When I’m not playing or chasing your hands and feet, I’m all about cuddling on your lap.

A Few Things About Me:

  • I might be a little shy at first, but once I’m comfortable, I’m super playful!
  • I love being on your lap and don’t mind being picked up.
  • I enjoy being petted and brushed.
  • I get along well with other cats but haven’t met any kids yet.
  • I can be a bit spooked by sudden movements, and I’m not a fan of booty pats.
  • I’m great with my litter box.
  • I like all scratching posts—cardboard, sisal rope, or carpet—whether they’re vertical or horizontal.

If you’re patient with me, I’ll be your little shadow, following you everywhere. I love to cuddle, and I’ll always be close by when you need a friend. Fun fact: I got my name because I was lured out from under the car with leftover (pepperoni) pizza, so my foster mom named me Pepperoni!

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
