My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Butter, a charming 16-pound piebald dachshund with a stunning coat of white, black, and tan. At around 4 years old, Butter is neutered, fully vaccinated, wormed, and up-to-date on heartworm treatment. He recently had a dental cleaning, and his silky-soft fur is simply irresistible!

Butter loves to snuggle and is happiest when he can curl up across your lap for a cozy nap. He adores his people and follows them from room to room, showing just how much he enjoys being close. When left alone, he can get a bit upset and will bark until his loved ones return. Butter is also a great car companion and does not get car sick.

Walking around the neighborhood is one of Butter’s favorite activities. He thrives when he can join a group of dogs, sniffing around and watching squirrels. He is comfortable doing his business during walks, too.

With a fenced yard and a dog door, Butter enjoys the freedom to come and go as he pleases. He appears to have been pee pad trained before arriving, as he will use a pad even when the back door is open. He is in the process of adjusting to housetraining and will need a little more time.

When left alone, Butter is kept in a large crate to ensure his safety and to keep him separate from senior dogs, allowing for a peaceful environment. He is well-behaved in the house and is not destructive.

Due to a sensitive stomach, Butter eats only Hill's Prescription Diet I/D small bites in chicken flavor. Caution is taken to avoid any mishaps, as he once experienced an upset stomach after eating another dog’s food.

Butter does see the resident cats and barks at them, but he is not allowed to get too close to keep him safe from potential swatting.

For anyone seeking a loving companion who brings joy and cuddles, Butter may just be the perfect match!
