My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Suri was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on October 8, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Suri! Suri is a shy, yet very active and goofy cat who has made great strides in coming out of his shell. While he's still getting used to people, his playful antics and endearing playful nature shine through, especially when he's with his feline friends. Suri is a pro at making cat buddies and will need to go to a home with an established cat-social cat in the home or with one of his cat roomies. He'll thrive with a patient family willing to help him settle in, offering cozy hiding spots like a blanket-covered cat tree, to help him feel safe. With time, treats, toys, and playtime, you'll unlock his sweet personality and enjoy his silly, energetic side. If you're looking for a quirky and fun feline friend, Suri could be the perfect match! Don't forget to bring a secure cat carrier to make the journey as safe as possible!

Shy/Fearful Cat:  Suri requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
