How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by their previous owner.

Why Jax is the one for you:
Meet Jax, a silly senior sweetheart who's all about the love! He adores people and is incredibly affectionate, making him the perfect companion for a calm and loving home. Even at nine years old, he runs around like a little puppy, putting a smile on the faces of everyone he's with. Jax may prefer to be the only pet and isn't a fan of young, unpredictable children, so he'd thrive as the star of your household. Open your heart and home to this deserving fella, and you'll gain a loyal friend who brightens your days. If you're interested in meeting Jax, come to our El Cajon campus today!

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
