My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATION: Chattanooga, TN
DOB: 04/01/2024

Hello! My name is Tux, and I am a sweet and gentle Great Dane Mix puppy looking for a loving family. I might seem a little shy at first, but once I feel comfortable, you'll see my sweet and silly side. I get along great with other dogs, so if you have furry friends, I’ll fit right in!

As a puppy, I'm still learning the ropes of leash walking, but I'm doing well for such a new skill. Potty training is coming along nicely, and I’m proud to say I'm learning to do my business outside consistently. I love playing with all types of toys and am a big chewer—my favorite toy right now is a rubber pumpkin. While I haven't quite mastered the game of "fetch" yet, I think it would be a fun game for me to learn. I play "tug" and "tag" all day with my dog friends at my foster home.

I’m not a fan of being left alone, but I'm working on it and know this will improve as I feel more safe and secure with my loving family. I'm also still getting used to regular household noises like the vacuum.

I do have some separation anxiety, but having my mastiff friend around helps me stay calm. It's getting better, but I still panic when crated alone. I think I would do best in a family that already has a playful dog I can learn from and romp around with.

I love toys, cuddles, food, treats, walks, blankets, people, and other dogs. I'm not a fan of loud machines like vacuums and blenders, and I don't like being left alone for too long. I've found my voice, but I don’t use it very often.

If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, and slightly goofy companion, I might be the perfect match for your family. I'm ready to fill your life with joy and cuddles!

All of our Great Danes are altered, if medically possible, fully vetted, micro-chipped, and on heartworm prevention or treatment prior to being adopted. Thank you for considering adopting a rescue dog, you're saving a life when you adopt.

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
