My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buddy Boy is a brown Chesapeake Bay lab mix whose estimated DOB is 8/1/2022 and on 10/3/2024 he weighed in at 60 pounds. He was found as a stray and after 10 months, his finder was no longer able to keep him. His finder did tell us that he lived with men, women and small children and did ok with cats and other dogs. Buddy Boy is friendly when you first meet him, and after interacting a bit he's downright affectionate. He's also curious and likes to sniff around and explore.
Buddy Boy is a sweet and playful doggie with a cute and expressive face who really needs a new fur-ever home!
Come in and meet Buddy Boy today and give him the second chance at happiness that he deserves.

More about this shelter

The mission of the Humane Society of Pulaski County is to rescue, care for and find homes for abandoned, abused, homeless and unwanted animals; to reduce suffering of animals; and to reduce the number of homeless animals through adoption, spay/neuter, and through education.

The Humane Society of Pulaski County provides access to low-cost, healthy, inoculated, sterilized animals to people seeking to adopt animals as pets only. Adopters are screened to see if they can provide the basics of care for the animals, proper housing, and continued veterinary maintenance; and have no history of animal abuse or irresponsible ownership.

The Humane Society is a private no-kill shelter, supported solely by donations, fund-raisers, bequests and grants. We receive no city, county or state funding, nor are we affiliated with any other organization. We have been rescuing animals since 1946, and have been in our present building since 2000.
