Meet Darcy, a charming 6-8 year old, 14 lb. Rat Terrier/Miniature Pinscher mix with a frosted face, the cutest ears, and soulful brown eyes. She was surrendered to the shelter after her owners moved away, deciding to leave this sweet girl behind. As expected, she was very nervous and we knew we had to save her so we scooped Darcy up and brought her on a freedom flight from North Carolina to Connecticut. Now, she’s in a foster home ready to find her furever family.
Darcy enjoys the finer things in life, like basking in the sun on the grass or following her foster pup siblings around the yard. She’s gentle and loves being around both furry friends and humans alike. She was previously living in a home with a cat too! She’s very loving and affectionate and while she gets along wonderfully with other dogs, she can be a bit timid around humans at first. To help her build confidence, she thrives in the company of furry companions so Darcy must go to a home with another dog. She’d love to be adopted alongside her friend Mandy, with whom she is currently in foster with.
She’s good in a crate, house trained, and food motivated, making her an excellent candidate for learning new tricks! In fact, she has an incredible talent for standing on her back legs when offered a treat. If you’re looking for a sweet companion who will bring happiness and smiles to your home, Darcy is ready to become part of your family!
Her adoption fee is $400 and she is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed. Darcy also qualifies for our Senior-to-Senior discount so if you’re 60 years or older, you can adopt her for just $300.
