Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & able to drive for a meet and greet. We are a 100% foster-based so there is no building to meet the dogs.
Elsa came from a breeder that has decided to no longer breeder schnauzers. Lucky for her, she has only had one litter. She is a sweet girl that follows her foster mom around the house looking for her attention. She is still trying to accept her foster dad.
Elsa is accepting of the harness and leash as you can see from her pictures. However, she is not sure what to do on it yet. So this will be a work in progress that needs to be done in a safe & secure place. Elsa loves to run and play in the yard. So at this time, we will a secure physical fenced yard. Elsa should never be off a harness and leash unless she is in the physical fenced yard.
Elsa does not require another dog in the home. She will be fine as the only dog as long as she is not by herself for long hours. She has been with both male and female dogs but just recently started to have issues with just one of the fosters' female dogs. We are trying to determine why this female and not the others but it is a work in progress. Elsa is not a fan of cats.
Elsa is doing well on house training as long as you get her outside on a regular basis. She does not signal in any way so it is up to you to get her outside.
If you are not familiar with the schnauzer breed, please look them up. They are generally a good family dog. Elsa will need a home that will be patient with her as she learns how to become a "normal" pet. If you have young children, they need to be respectful of Elsa and her space.
