Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Looking for someone who truly wants to rescue a cat who has had a sad life yet is filled will love, once he lets his guard down. He has been failed by humans several times and we need his next home to truly be his forever home. Mooney is initially a hider, fearful of yet another home that he does not know if it last. Once he feels safe he is a very loving boy, but always submissive to humans. He needs to be the only cat, as he has learned to be on the defensive all the time with other cats. He is currently being cared for in a foster home with a senior lady. It took about two months for him to begin to relax and trust her, but he does not get along with the other two cats. The female is aggressive toward Mooney and Mooney has swiped at the male.
Mooney has had regular vetting. For the right home, we are willing to negotiate the adoption fee or do a foster-to-adopt placement. However, we want any potential adopter to really give him a chance and the benefit of the doubt. He deserves it, he craves love and attention from people, and he will lavish affection on someone who loves him back. He would be perfect for a single or couple who are retired and want companionship. He is indoor only.
Mooney uses the litterbox, eats neatly from his bowls, and loves to observe the outside from the top perch of a cat tree. He can be playful at times but mostly he likes watching TV on the couch with people, napping, and getting loved on.
He is a dear boy looking for a low key home with lots of love to give - but patience is a key to give him time to let his guard

More about this rescue
We rescue animals from high kill shelters or abandoned local strays and foster them until they find an adoptive home. Our southern branch also goes out on emergency rescue calls for cats in drain and sewer pipes, up trees, stuck in walls etc. Transport in available up and down the state of CA. We also TNR local stray and feral populations. The plight of homeless animals moves us deeply. It is unspeakably horrific to see gentle loving animals killed simply because they are homeless. While we cannot save them all, each one saved deserves it. We are a 501c3 registered, CA non-profit corporation.
