Raider came to Longmeadow at the age of 29. The move to the Ranch was a bit difficult for him, as he had spent most of his life at his previous home. Due to the health of his owners, Raider was surrendered to us in the hope that we would find a home where he could live out the rest of his life with a family who loved him just as much as his previous one. The handsome gelding has been settling into life at the Ranch ever since his arrival.
Upon evaluation, our trainer found that Raider was trained under saddle. He neck reins, has a solid stop, and understands backing cues. He would be a good fit for someone looking for light riding or even a lead line horse and would do best in a home with an intermediate rider/handler.
Due to the major move he made at an older age, Raider tends to be on the anxious side. He can be a bit buddy sour and really enjoys one-on-one time with an equine buddy. Once Raider finds his forever home and falls into a routine with a new friend, however, we believe he will settle in quickly.
Raider`s beautiful paint coat and pretty face are hard to miss. And yes, you did notice a slight head tilt! Raider is blind in his right eye, resulting in the most endearing head tilt. This boy is full of personality! If you want to open your home to a senior horse, this is the guy for you! Visit our website to apply for adoption today!
Adoption Fee: $300 Height: 15.2hh Maximum Carrying Weight (includes tack and rider): 75lbs
