My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Piper and Pixie are gorgeous black and white female cats about 8-9 months old (DOB about 2/8/24).  They are bonded sisters who came from a situation where animal control had stepped in. They weren't what you might expect from a situation like that.  They were in great physical shape (other than Pixie having flea bite scabs) and ultra friendly. Piper (front) is a bit bigger than Pixie, but we believe them to be littermates.  Piper has more black, while Pixie has more white.  Piper has a short tail, about three inches long.  Don’t they make a pretty pair?  They are so confident and outgoing that we suspect they would get along with cats, dogs, and kids.  They LOVE everyone as soon as they meet them.  They are VERY playful and active.  They love to play with toys or and are never bored.  They like to be held and to snuggle.  They are negative for feline leukemia and aids, current on their distemper and rabies vaccines, been wormed, treated for fleas, and been vet checked, spayed, and microchipped.   Preference will be given to adopters willing to adopt them as a pair.  If interested in these cutie pies, please contact Holly at 865-671-4564 or hhfrey1@tds.net

We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. The majority of our cats and kittens come from high kill shelters. Through our application and interview process, we strive to make the 'purrfect' match to insure a loving, lifelong home for those in our care. We do NOT receive funding from any national organization, federal or state governments.

Additional adoption info

Potential adopters are required to complete our application before adoption. Our adoption fee varies based on the age and breed of the cat. The fee includes testing for feline leukemia and aids, the series of distemper vaccines, the rabies vaccines, wormings, advantage so they are flea free when you take them home, a veterinary exam, and the spay or neuter. Microchipping is available for an additional $45. The adoption fee is waived for qualifying adopters interested in one of our sponsored cats.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

At this time we are not attending adoption fairs. To adopt, we ask that you first complete an application (email hhfrey1@tds.net to request and indicate the cat(s) of interest). Approved applications will be allowed to meet the cat in a home environment. Completing the application does not obligate you to adopt.

More about this rescue

Stray Connection is a small organization of private foster homes (no shelter or store-front) that takes in kittens/cats from shelters outside of Knoxville that are typically high-kill, low-funded. These cats are brought to Knoxville where they receive the necessary vet care. Because our cats live in private homes, we know them well. It is our mission to make the best match of the cat's personality and individual needs with an approved adopter.
