My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Rue is a Patient Paw, please ask about her reduced adoption fee!**

Age: 3 years
Weight: 3.4kg / 7.5lbs

Rue is an affectionate, adorable little lady who loves to snuggle, be brushed and chase her toys around! Her foster family have called her funny, warm, cuddly and sweet. Rue came from a busy household with another resident cat whom Rue found a bit rude. Rue prefers a predictable routine, and generally takes a few days to settle in and warm up. Once comfortable, this lovely lady makes a social and loyal companion. Rue is currently on a medication to help manage her stress levels and will likely do best in a calm home with routines. Rue may do well with select children or pets, provided her humans are prepared to conduct slow intros to prevent Rue from becoming overwhelmed.

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
